Direct Steam Injection Process

Direct steam injection (DSI) heating is a general term that refers to any type of fluid heating that utilizes steam being directly mixed with the process fluid. Several forms of direction steam injection exist. One of the major benefits of DSI is its high energy efficiency.

Our program on DSI heating explores the use of this technology for processing and food safety.

The projects in this area include:

1. Water treatment for irrigation and food safety.

2. Efficient cooking of foods with DSI.
